Yeah, the title says it all. This is a placeholder and a promise - I'm writing three or four real posts as we speak as well as reorganizing my tiny shop and sorting new type.
Why am I reorganizing? Oh, well I must fit in the new press! And the new cabinet! And all this other stuff! Pictures to come. There will also be posts on the Kelsey 6x10's first print and perhaps setting the impression screws. Before that there will be posts on those two sets of wedding invitations, so watch this space, ladies and gentlemen.
Also, the cat is cute. One more thing: once I print on the 6x10 and nothing goes wrong, I'll be looking to sell the 5x8 - yes, I'm superstitious, but the horror of being pressless! If you or anyone you know in the New York area are looking for a Kelsey 5x8 in beautiful condition (if I do say so myself), shoot me an email. It comes with free, somewhat useful advice (if needed/wanted), two chases, 11 month old rollers, an oil can and 13 sheets of appropriately sized tympan paper.
Does the cute, gratuitous shop cat have a name? Mine calls herself Jezebel and she shows herself off here:

Jezebel doesn't like dogs; can't imagine why...

The shop cat's name is Gus, and he's actually pretty indifferent to dogs - and other cats too. People are his thing.
He also hates books and all things letterpress and thinks it's hilarious to jump on the composing stone when I'm ignoring him.
Jezebel looks like a sweet cute cat - I bet she doesn't ever jump on your press stuff!
